January Lockdown letter ‘Key Workers’

Dear Parents / Carers

The Government has recently set out the latest guidance for schools during Lockdown with only children of critical workers and those defined as vulnerable to attend.

Who will be eligible to attend?

1. Children of critical workers: “parents whose work is critical to the coronavirus (COVID 19) and EU transition response include those who work in health and social care and in other key sectors: health and social care, education and childcare, key public services, local and national government, food and other necessary goods, public safety and national security, transport and border, utilities, communication and financial services.”

Please notify the school as soon as possible outlining that your child requires full-time provision.

2. Vulnerable children: “includes those who are assessed as being in need of section 17 of the Children Act 1989, including children and young people who have a child in need plan, a child protection plan or who are a looked-after child; have an education, health and care (EHC) plan; have been identified as otherwise vulnerable by educational providers or local authorities (including children’s social care services), and who could therefore benefit from continued full-time attendance.”

Mrs Thomas will make individual contact with those to which this applies.

Attendance

All children in the above categories are expected to attend full-time on a daily basis from 8.20 to 3.15 wearing school uniform. Free School Meals will be provided to all eligible pupils; pupils who are not eligible are to bring a packed lunch.

Yours faithfully

Ian James
