Jigsaw
St Bartholomew’s, as a JIGSAW Flagship School, is fully committed to developing the whole child through the effective delivery of personal, social and health education, emotional literacy, social skills and spiritual development.
Time is dedicated specifically to this mindful approach to PSHE although the themes and values are reinforced every day in the classroom and as part of the school’s wider curriculum mapping, including collective worship and assemblies. The importance of promoting and maintaining physical and mental well-being, and building and nurturing positive relationships, is integral the school’s ethos and values.
Our Jigsaw curriculum promotes Spiritual, Moral, Social and Cultural (SMSC) as part of a carefully planned, sequential curriculum which is delivered through ‘Jigsaw’ themes. These themes complement the school’s ‘Harmony’ principles and ensure that all children develop a variety of qualities and values encompassing British Values, celebrating differences, developing dreams and goals, building relationships and keeping safe and healthy.
