Transition
We work closely with Stourport High School and other schools within Severn Academies Educational Trust to provide a wide range of opportunities to work together with children from other feeder schools. In addition, a carefully planned schedule of events and activities take place throughout the year to make transition to high school as smooth as possible. Activities take place in years 5 and 6 and involve staff from Stourport High School both at the St Bartholomew’s and the high school.
Smooth transition is also very important at other stages in the school journey especially from Nursery to Reception and Key Stage 1 to Key Stage 2. There is also a great deal of careful planning to ensure transition from one year to the next makes all children feel safe, cared for and excited about their movement into a new class with a new teacher. Teachers work closely to ensure all transitions are carried out effectively.
