We work closely with Stourport High School and other schools within Severn Academies Educational Trust to provide a wide range of opportunities to collaborate with children from other feeder schools. In addition, a carefully planned schedule of events and activities takes place throughout the year to make the transition to high school as smooth as possible. Activities take place in Years 5 and 6 and involve staff from Stourport High School, both at St Bartholomew’s and at the high school.
A smooth transition is also very important at other stages of the school journey, especially from Nursery to Reception and Key Stage 1 to Key Stage 2. There is also a great deal of careful planning to ensure the transition from one year to the next makes all children feel safe, cared for and excited about moving into a new class with a new teacher. Teachers work closely together to ensure all transitions are carried out effectively.
